YXP Student Assistant - FWS (Finance)



The USF Office of Youth Experiences (YXP) helps young people explore their futures, discover their passions, and forge a strong connection with the University of South Florida. YXP supports the engagement of thousands of K-12 students every year through summer camps, field trips, classroom guest speakers, afterschool and weekend programs, clubs, competitions, exhibitions, and public events. The work of YXP cultivates lifelong skills and interests and supports long-term workforce development, college readiness, and economic opportunity. YXP is operated by the Florida Center for Instructional Technology (FCIT), a recognized leader in the study and improvement of K-12 educational technology and educator professional development since 1982.Minimum Qualifications: Applicant must have a current Federal Work Study (FWS) award for the current academic year in order to apply for this position. Applicants are asked to demonstrate proof of their FWS award by saving their "Award Overview" screen from OASIS as a print screen and upload it with your class schedule, cover letter, and resume. You must upload ALL documents as one document in PDF format.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in an office/clerical setting. Experience working with children. Proficiency in Canva, photo editing, video editing, Word, Excel, Powerpoint in a professional environment.

Student must exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills, be punctual, detail oriented and demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn and help. Must be responsible and dependable. Must handle confidential information in a professional and ethical manner. Computer knowledge and research skills are essential.

The FWS Youth Experiences Student Assistant will:

  • Provide general office support to the department.
  • Provide support at public events, such as placing directional signs, facilitating youth activities, and providing logistical support.
  • Greet visitors in a professional, prompt and courteous manner; answer questions; direct them to meeting and training locations.
  • Prepare and organize materials, such as office supplies, teaching materials, and instructional handouts.
  • Perform support tasks as needed, such as scanning, copying, transporting materials from storage spaces to instructional spaces, software installation on lab computers, arranging furniture in classroom spaces, proofreading, and other small projects.

Computer tasks will include creating and updating social media content, Canva documents, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and Power Point presentations.
