The Product Development Manager will play a crucial role in driving innovation, product evolution and efficiency within our manufacturing processes. This position involves close collaboration with the commercial team and plant operations to identify opportunities for business growth by implementing process improvements to broaden current product offering capabilities, develop new products, and ensure seamless integration of new technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in specialty product application, gas chromatography, process optimization, and cross-functional team leadership. This role will report to the Director of Specialty Products. Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and plant operations teams to ensure new products meet and/or exceed industry standards, product evolution and trends • Process Improvement: Work closely with plant operations to analyze current manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement. Implement changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. • Project Management: Manage multiple product development projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints. Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong working relationships with plant operations, engineering, R&D, and quality assurance teams. Facilitate communication and collaboration to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives. • Technology Integration: Stay updated on the latest manufacturing technologies and trends. Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve production processes and product offerings. • Data Analysis: Utilize data-driven approaches to monitor process performance and product quality. Implement corrective actions based on data analysis to continuously improve operations. • Compliance: Ensure all product development activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies. • Expand current production capabilities to support market segment end user needs and requirements o Ie - lengthening shelf life on sulfur standards o Expanding capabilities on speciated sulfurs • Evolve current production capabilities to support evolving market segment end user future application needs and requirements o Ie - lower detection levels on sulfur stands - ppb, ppt vs standardized low level ppm o Expand liquid mix capabilities to support more robust analytical capability o Improve manufacturing processes to allow competitive pricing on manufacturing costs What makes you great: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Product Development, or a related field. Advanced degree is preferred. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in specialty products focused product development and process improvement within a manufacturing environment. • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of managing complex projects. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software. • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations. • Ability to travel up to 50% • Work is conducted within a dual-environment setting, encompassing both office and manufacturing facilities.
