Dayforce Payroll Director (Finance)



PAYROLL DIRECTOR

The Payroll Director will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of payroll operations across our business units. This position will ensure the accuracy and efficiency of payroll processing, compliance with relevant regulations, and integration with our Dayforce system. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in payroll management and a strong background in Dayforce.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and manage the payroll processes for all business units.
  • Ensure accurate and timely bi-weekly and weekly payroll processing in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Implement and maintain payroll systems, with a focus on Dayforce.
  • Develop and enforce payroll policies and procedures. Proven experience in assessing and restructuring payroll processes for growth and efficiency
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure seamless payroll operations across enterprise systems.
  • Lead payroll-related projects, including system upgrades and M&A integrations. Demonstrated success leading payroll during periods of rapid growth, particularly through mergers and acquisitions
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Stay current on payroll best practices, legal requirements, and emerging technologies to ensure the organization remains ahead of the curve
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the payroll team. Train, develop, and lead the payroll team; provide mentorship and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Analyze payroll data and generate reports for management.
  • Address and resolve payroll-related issues and discrepancies.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in payroll management.
  • Expertise in Dayforce payroll systems.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance, including certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance.
  • Payroll tax compliance expertise across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in Dayforce payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
