Admin Temp Support -Temporary Line Superintendent (Finance)

SUMMARY: As a Temporary Line Superintendent, you will be responsible for the oversight and assurance of correct positioning of vessels and mooring lines. You have a responsibility to ensure work is done safely and the workforce on sight accurately accounted for.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervise laborers during mooring and unmooring operations.
• Oversee the positioning of the vessel relative to the dock at the direction of the vessel master or pilot.
• Proactively communicate any known or suspected issues that could affect the operation.
• Document and complete all required paperwork, including labor tracking and reporting.
• Ensure safety standards are followed in accordance to company and regulatory guidelines. EDUCATION: Associate's degree in business/related field or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE: 1 year of experience in transportation or the maritime industry.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word.
COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines. Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Ability to perform accurately in a detailed oriented environment. Ability to gather, interpret, report, and use data and other information concerning assigned activities. Ability to function effectively with or as part of a team. Skill in preparing clear and concise documents, including, but not limited to reports, procedures, correspondences, and other written materials. Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of import forwarding and customs brokerage in a domestic and/or international capacity. Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.
OTHER: Bilingual (English/Spanish) may be required.
JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units/segments.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Time will be spent on various docks in Portland, Seattle, and Tacoma as needed. Employee will need to be able to have reliable transportation and be able to attend work location at all hours of the day.
Position Location - Seattle/ Fixed
Salary Range is $20 to $25/ per hour
California 14%, Colorado 3%, New York City 25%, Washington 9%
