Individual & Family Plans (IFP) Product Management Senior Advisor - Remote - Cigna Healthcare (Finance)



Join one of the fastest growing business segments at Cigna. As a Product Management Senior Advisor you will support the development and implementation of product strategies to maximize profitable growth and membership targets within Cigna's Individual and Family Plans (IFP), a key business within Cigna's Government Business segment. As part of the IFP Product team, you will be responsible for market and segment analysis, product definition, competitive assessment and price positioning strategies, and ensuring our products deliver superior value to customers who buy their own individual health insurance. The Senior Advisor will develop and implement health insurance plans for specific market areas and provide in-depth SME support of key initiatives and projects. A successful person in this role has or will rapidly become a functional expert in the individual business segment. Success will be achieved through strong, proactive partnerships with areas/individuals such as local IFP market managers, Pricing, Risk Management, Sales/Distribution, Network/Provider Contracting, Service Operations and IT. Individuals with experience in developing benefit & plan design strategies and/or health related products for the individual health insurance industry are preferred. Intellectual curiosity & analytical acumen are highly desirable.

Core Responsibilities:
• Evaluate, develop and refine market level product portfolios through analysis and understanding of targeted markets, market trends, new technology, customer business issues and the competitive environment
• Identify and lead tactics to maximize product advantages [against] competitors while aligning with the profitability and growth goals of the IFP segment
• Partner with and independently navigate matrix partners/organizations such as Network/Provider Contracting, IT, Pricing, Analytics, Marketing, and Service Operations to identify and implement new product and/or enhancements that will result in increased membership/earnings
• Work with matrix partners to annual refresh and enhance competitor information in a data visualization tool. Independently gather and summarize competitor information from publicly available sources
• Guide development of and utilize performance metric reports to monitor, communicate and positively influence areas of opportunity
• Project manage the annual product design process, organize key meetings, document progress & key milestones, and manage key product artifacts through approval and delivery.
• Collaborate with the Mental Health Parity team to ensure products meet or exceed regulatory guidelines
• Show a proven ability to independently navigate cross-functional areas and manage projects that are outside current area of expertise
• Lead IFP product related projects, developing project proposals, business cases, product specifications and project requirements
• Identify potential issues and roadblocks from a benefits/product perspective and works to mitigate risks to ensure success.
• Maintain and/or update product policies, procedures and practices

Minimum Qualifications:
• BA or advanced degree in Business or a health related field preferred
• 5+ years product management experience in health insurance required, preferably individual health insurance
• Proven success in a heavily matrixed environment
• Collaborative approach to achieving results
• Drives resolution of issues, escalating when appropriate
• Ability to make sound business decisions by interpreting data and key metrics
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
• Ability to predict market trends based on historical information

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 110,700 - 184,500 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
