Manager, Total Rewards - Hybrid (Finance)



Description

We're currently seeking a Manager, Total Rewards to lead key compensation, benefits, and HR systems initiatives that directly impact the experience of our employees-the people who make our life-saving work possible. In this role, you'll provide strategic and day-to-day leadership across Total Rewards and HR Systems, supporting everything from program development to process improvement. You'll also partner closely with senior leaders to ensure these functions work seamlessly together to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience for our employees and leaders nationwide.

What to Expect

Schedule: Monday - Friday

This position will have a hybrid work environment operating from the Scottsdale, AZ location 3 days per week and working from a remote/ at-home office 2 days per week.

As a Manager, Total Rewards, you'll get to:
  • Lead, coach, and manage assigned staff, including hiring, training, and performance development
  • Collaborate with senior HR leaders to plan and implement strategic initiatives for Total Rewards and HR Systems.
  • Oversee job analysis and job description development, including salary grade and FLSA classification.
  • Support the development and administration of organization-wide compensation and/or benefits programs and policies.
  • Manage the annual merit increase and salary planning process.
  • Oversee external compensation and benefits vendors to ensure high service levels.
  • Administer core benefit programs (medical, dental, retirement, etc.) and lead wellness and service award initiatives.
  • Coordinate with HR and field teams on leave of absence and disability programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal/state compensation and benefits regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, FLSA).
  • Manage annual filings like 5500s and ACA reporting with auditors and vendors.
  • Monitor market trends and legislative changes, recommending program adjustments as needed.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and internal consultant on Total Rewards and HR Systems.
  • Partner with HR Systems to support process optimization and ensure data integrity.
  • Contribute to cross-functional teams supporting total rewards strategy (e.g., recognition, work-life, compensation studies).
  • Stay informed on industry trends and maintain a strong professional network.

Requirements

Knowledge/ Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area required.
  • Strong subject matter expertise and knowledge of state and federal wage and hour regulations required including ERISA, ACA. FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, COBRA.
  • Broad knowledge of compensation and benefit programs required.
Licenses/Certifications

Certification as a PHR, SPHR, GHR, and/or CCP and/or CBP preferred.

Experience

  • Six years human resources experience required. To include:
  • Four years compensation and benefits experience
  • Multi-state environment experience.
  • Previous experience with HRIS required.
  • Three years of experience leading staff and projects required.
Skills/Abilities
  • Strong oral and written business communications skills. Effective presentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical, statistical, personal organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of staff and management.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to plan and organize a diversified and heavy workload.
  • Participative leadership style, team development and coaching skills
  • Must maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient computer skills including MicroSoft applications and advanced Excel.
