Process Excellence, Project Lead (Finance)

As the Project Lead of Process Excellence Management, you will enable process excellence by partnering with business to identify end-to-end processes and value streams that are ready to be reimagined. You will be responsible for shaping and guiding the work - not only by leading improvement efforts, but by coaching and enabling teams within the business to adopt core process excellence principles.

Reporting to the Chief Portfolio Owner of Process Excellence, you will have the opportunity to directly influence how Prudential operates at scale by shaping, guiding, and embedding process excellence practices into the core how work is designed, delivered, and continuously improved across the enterprise.

Here is what you can expect on a typical day
• Execute the Process Excellence Playbook across business/value stream stakeholders to identify initial backlog of prioritized initiatives for each end-to-end value stream to sequence and subsequently deliver
• Facilitate discussions with key stakeholders to deeply understand end-to-end workflows and opportunities to eliminate process waste and improve customer and stakeholder outcomes
• Lead cross-functional workshops and working sessions to map current processes, uncover inefficiencies, identify North Star vision and measurement, and co-design improved workflows
• Coach and activate business/value stream teams to adopt process excellence principles to develop capabilities for continuous improvement as a part of Prudential's core operating model to
• Partner with Agile delivery and emerging technology teams to ensure accountability in integrating process improvements
• Track and report progress and impact of PEX initiatives, ensuring accuracy, transparency, accountability, and escalation of impediments or critical decisions
• Align each value stream initiative to the Enterprise Management System (EMS) prioritized investment to ensure efforts are aligned to expected business value outcomes
• Support the PEX Team in building and nurturing the community of practice by engaging, developing, and connecting process excellence practitioners across the enterprise, including ongoing recommendations to refine the Process Excellence Playbook

The skills and expertise you bring
• Bachelor's degree; Experience in process excellence, continuous improvement, data/financial analytics, six sigma or experience in related fields, with a strong understanding of end-to-end value streams
• Proven ability to lead structured discovery and design work, including current-state analysis and future-state process design using data-driven methodologies and process mapping techniques
• Comfortable working across business and technology teams, with a track record of building strong partnerships
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously across dynamic business environments
• Results oriented mindset with exceptional data analytics skills with deep financial/business performance acumen and ability to apply statistical analysis to deliver data driven insights and recommendations
• Strong communication and synthesis skills to translate process issues into narratives that resonate with stakeholders across all levels, ensuring detailed oriented accountability combined with transparent documentation on progress, KPIs, critical decision points, and impediments
• Ability to independently lead across cross-functional teams of varying levels to achieve timely outcomes for end-to-end value streams, including customer-backed discovery, detailed initiative design, impact-driven execution, and ongoing continuous improvement
• Strong problem-solving skills rooted in value adding opportunities, with the ability to identify root cause of issues and true underlying needs.

• Preferred qualifications:

  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Industry-specific process knowledge relevant to our business sector

Location: Newark, NJ hybrid (minimum 3 days/ week in office)

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $141,100.00 to $191,000.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
