Sourcing Specialist (Project Management)

Position Overview:
A Sourcing Specialist identifies, evaluates, and acquires the goods, materials, or services an organization needs in the most cost-effective and efficient manner. This role bridges market research, supplier engagement, negotiation, and stakeholder collaboration to optimize procurement outcomes and mitigate supply-chain risks.


Key Responsibilities:

Research, identify, and pre-screen potential suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and capacity
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service terms to secure the best total cost of ownership
Analyze and compare supplier proposals, leveraging spend data and market trends
Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives aligned to business goals
Monitor supplier performance via KPIs (on-time delivery, quality metrics) and manage corrective actions
Coordinate with internal teams (Finance, Operations, Quality, R&D) to forecast needs and refine specifications
Prepare and present sourcing reports and dashboards to procurement leadership
Implement continuous improvement in sourcing processes and risk-management practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Finance, Operations) on sourcing projects and process improvements

Facilitate communication on material run out plans between multiple departments.

Serve as an escalation point between material buyers and Senior Sourcing Manager


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
2+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply-chain roles
Proven negotiation track record and contract-management skills
Strong analytical capability: able to interpret data and perform cost analyses
Hands-on experience with procurement or ERP systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle)


Core Skills

Market research and supplier evaluation techniques
Advanced proficiency in Excel; familiarity with SQL or BI tools is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication for stakeholder alignment
Detail-oriented organization and project-management abilities
Strategic mindset with a focus on cost reduction and value creation
Risk assessment and compliance awareness (e.g., anti-corruption, import/export regulations)


Preferred Certifications & Extras

Professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, CPP, CPIM)
Experience with spend-analytics platforms (Tableau, Power BI)
Knowledge of sustainable and ethical sourcing frameworks
Familiarity with supplier-diversity initiatives and digital procurement trends
