Internal Comm Partner (Finance)



The Internal Communication Partner plays a key role in bringing our internal communication strategy to life, helping to build a culture where team members feel informed, connected, and empowered. This position will support communication efforts for team members throughout the business. The ideal candidate will be a thoughtful communicator, a strategic thinker, and a collaborative partner committed to fostering team member engagement through clear, purposeful communication.

Essential Position Responsibilities - This is a salary exempt position.

Internal Communication Strategy. Execute internal communication plans that support business priorities and cultivate a culture of transparency, connection, and engagement.

Content Development. Develop and deliver compelling content across internal channels, including emails, newsletters, intranet, and digital signage.

Communication Campaigns. Demonstrate an understanding of how to develop and execute integrated communication campaigns that drive awareness, behavior change, and alignment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration. Partner with departments across the business to understand their goals and translate them into effective communication strategies and deliverables.

Awareness & Alignment. Support enterprise-wide campaigns and initiatives that drive awareness, alignment, and team member engagement.

Simmons Giving Support. Collaborate with the Chaplain and Giving team to promote resources, share team member stories, and amplify opportunities to give back.

Digital Signage. Manage digital signage content across locations to ensure consistency and relevance of messaging.

Feedback & Metrics. Track engagement metrics, gather team member feedback, and contribute to data-driven improvements in the internal communication approach.

Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues, e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities: Enters and locates information on a computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Communicates with Customers, Vendors, or Employees via telephone, in person, and/or electronic mail. May present information to small or large groups. Move about in a manufacturing environment, office environment, and surrounding property.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by visiting facility.

Travel: Travels domestically to and from multiple facilities, industry events or customers possibly requiring overnight stays.

Technical Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or corporate communications (internships and early career roles welcome). Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a focus on clarity, tone, and message alignment. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to build relationships across teams and levels. Experience with digital communication tools (e.g., email platforms, intranet systems, content management systems). Proactive mindset with strong organizational and project management abilities. Familiarity with communication measurement and analysis is a plus.

Industry Experience: Poultry, Pet Food, or food manufacturing preferred but not required.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field or 4 years related experience.

Preferred Education: Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.
