Director, Procurement Services (Animal Nutrition) (Finance)
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Director of Procurement Services provides overall support for the enterprise sourcing and plant Procurement Operations teams to ensure effective sourcing and operations execution. This position will lead a team focused on the tactical responsibilities and will be responsible for supporting the procurement organization in areas such as: data analytics, S&OP leadership support, maintaining all financial and spend management reporting to support the monthly S&OP cycles, creating and maintaining all new supplier and material setup processes, leading all efforts for existing and new system support, providing actionable insights to the team by developing and managing key KPI and other important metric reporting tools, publishing and managing 24-month forecast for key materials, lead efforts for new product evaluation and launches, coordination of periodic cost updates and exception reporting analysis, Joint Business Planning (JBP) coordination.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES - This is a Salary Position
Lead team members to develop actionable data insights that create value for the organization.
Develop risk assessments at the supplie r and item level that allows for the prioritization of risk mitigation action to be taken to ensure a continuity of supply for the enterprise.
Lead all efforts to support the monthly S&OP cycle. These efforts include rigorous support of the S&OP process through responsibilities such as: collaboration with Supply Planning on monthly changes to the 24-month supply plan by SKU, performing analysis on month over month changes, monthly loading of standard costs at the item level, monthly analysis of spend vs. budget/plan, monthly creation of presentation material to communicate with BU leadership on supply and cost risks.
Lead a team responsible for onboarding new suppliers for the enterprise. This includes items such as: NDA management, working with legal and suppliers on contract language, obtaining all documentation that supports our FSQA and regulatory needs.
Leads all efforts for new item creation and new project launches for the enterprise. Collaborates with BU leadership and facilitates those requirements to the Sourcing teams for optimal supplier identification and support.
Develop and mentor talent to support the ongoing and future needs of the business. A lead support for the ERP conversion. Foster and grow a culture to drive continuous improvement to move the business forward while driving waste and inefficiency out of the organization. Direct responsibility to ensure the Procurement Services team delivers on all ethical, sustainability, diversity company priorities and objectives. Routinely presents performance to senior management.
Participates as a member of the Team Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Provides Data and Analytics Insights Leads efforts to create and maintain reporting for key metrics on a weekly, monthly, quarterly basis. Reporting for areas such as: Supplier Performance, PPV, MIV, Spend Management, Savings, Project Updates, Supply Plan and Schedule attainment vs. inventory levels.
Day to Day Triage Leads the efforts for triage response on critical supply disruptions. Interfaces with suppliers on any disruptions, tracks and traces key deliveries, works with sourcing and procurement operations until short term supply disruptions are adequately solved for. This team serves as a liaison between the supplier, plant and sourcing to manage the day to day supply challenges across the supply chain.

Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives Is familiar, or develops familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. J.D. Edwards, Oracle PLM, Oracle Cloud, Microsoft Office Applications, company policies, LEAN).

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by visiting facility.
Travel: Travels within North America, occasionally requiring overnight stays.
Technical Experience: 5+ years procurement experience. Preference for food processing organization. Strong analytical ability and financial knowledge.
Minimum Education : Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, or 4 years related work experience.
Preferred Education: Designated Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or equivalent.
