Position Summary:
Under the supervision of senior personnel, this position is responsible for conducting research data analysis in the areas of complex disease genetics, genomics, machine learning, and bioinformatics.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Conducts research data analysis in complex disease genetics, genomics, machine learning, and bioinformatics.
- Collects and manages data from different sources and develops analytical pipelines and computational methods.
- Process and analyze data to derive meaningful insights, interpret the results and effectively communicate findings.
- Coordinates various research projects and ensure established timelines are met.
- Assists with grant proposal development and manuscript writing.
- Assists with preparing results for a written paper for publication, in a presentation at a meeting, or through personal contact with faculty members and other researchers.
- Manages research protocols and computational codes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiar with at least one computer programming language.
- Knowledge and skills in genomic data analysis.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, scientific professionalism, and deadlines.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in genetics, statistics, bioinformatics or related field required
Minimum Experience:
1 year in bioinformatics, genomics, or a related biomedical data analysis, including single-cell sequencing required
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
