Research Scientist (Finance)



A research scientist position is available in the lab of Dr. Saulius Sumanas. The selected candidate will work with lab members on projects investigating the molecular mechanisms that regulate cardiovascular development in the zebrafish model.Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in biochemistry, biology, genetics or closely related field.

PREFERRED:

-Experience working with zebrafish

-Excellent organization skills and familiarity with word processing and imaging software

-At least 6 months of practical experience in a wet research lab using molecular methods such as PCR, DNA purification and others.

Grow Here .-Participate in original research project related to studying vascular development and disease in a zebrafish model system. Experimental methods may include zebrafish embryo collection and microinjection, microscopy analysis, DNA and RNA purification, PCR, RNA in situ hybridization and others. Perform basic analysis of experiments and maintain experimental records.

-Maintain general lab organization. Help with making reagents and maintaining and ordering supplies.

-Maintain zebrafish lines. This includes zebrafish genotyping and line identification

-Will collect, organize, and analyze data for presentation and publication, and maintain experimental records

-Will assist with other research-related tasks as needed Apply
