Kleinfelder is hiring a Finance Manager for our East Division operations. The position is remote with travel to local offices as needed (10%) but we are open to having a candidate work from one of our area locations.

JOB SUMMARY

Position reports to the Division Business Manager and provides financial advice to help Area Managers assess the performance of projects and area profitability. Participates in periodic business performance reviews with the Division Director and Division Business Manager and may be responsible for performing various financial analyses, investment evaluations and financial training programs. Interacts independently or in conjunction with Division management including Area Managers and Project Managers. Effectively engages, partners and develops strong relationships with members of the Finance & Accounting team. Uses finance and accounting knowledge as well as industry and professional guidelines and procedures to accomplish goals and objectives, and solve abstract problems and tasks.. Works independently, using knowledge of industry and/or professional guidelines and protocols to accomplish goals and objectives and solve complex problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Close

  • Participate and manage monthly Estimate to Complete process including distribution, follow up, and maintenance and analysis for the East Division.

Regional Financial Management

  • Assist Area Managers and Project Managers with understanding their Project Performance against key performance metrics.
  • Concisely highlight variance drivers and identify opportunities to mitigate risk and improve financial performance.
  • Participate in project reviews with Area Managers, including the identification of financial performance issues and corrective actions.
  • Prepare materials (financial analysis/reports) for operations business reviews.
  • Partner with division management to maintain a strong understanding of key business metrics and trends, and specific business processes and priorities.
  • Identify and make recommendations to the Division Business Manager and appropriate Area Manager regarding opportunities for improvement or course correction.
  • Provide guidance to areas on company financial policies and procedures.

Risk Reviews

  • Coordinate and schedule regular and timely triggered risk reviews and facilitate organization of meetings and follow up.
  • Evolve in contract analyst role to provide support and direction to Project Managers as they navigate contract language.

Planning/Forecasting

  • Provide support to Area Managers and Project Managers in the development of their project health.

Financial Systems

  • Advanced knowledge of all financial systems to support analysis and to help Area Managers understand their financial results.
  • Identify improvements to existing financial systems, reports and processes.

Training

  • Partner with Project Management Office (PMO) on the development and delivery of training content to improve the project financial acumen of the PM community.

Health & Safety (9a)

  • Demonstrates commitment to using LPS and other Health and Safety tools to identify and correct hazards, at-risk behavior, and near-losses.

EXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's/MBA degree or equivalent preferred.

Experience: 10 - 12 years of proven related experience, 7 - 8 years designated professional experience and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, 6 - 7 years management experience required.
