Sr Process Engineer (Finance)



POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr Process Engineer is responsible for improving quality and production processes. This can be done collaboratively in a team environment or individually. The incumbent will work with shop floor employees as well as other technical staff and management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluates and implement improvements to manufacturing processes that promote quality, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Assists in designing and implementing fixturing/jigs to improve quality and productivity.
  • Establishes and maintains engineering project schedules. Monitors project progress, coordinates activities, and resolves problems to ensure completion to schedule and within budget.
  • Optimizes facility layouts, production lines, and machine operations.
  • Collaborates with other engineers, contractors, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and delays in production.
  • Trains staff in new and existing processes.
  • Resolves customer quality issues as needed. This may include direct customer contact and interaction with the sales team or others outside the plant environment.
  • Implements changes within the Quality Management System.
  • Sets quality standards with the product management team as new products are introduced.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of quality standards, work instructions, quality records, and other related documentation.
  • Develops methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation of products.
  • Performs root cause analysis on product/process-related issues.
  • Utilizes risk assessment tools (e.g., PFMEAs) to identify actions to reduce risks.
  • Improves production processes using Kaizen events, process mapping, 5s, or other lean tools.
  • Identifies trends and process variations for future improvement initiatives.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • PMP certification a plus
  • Proven track record of solving problems and implementing improvement.
  • Experience with woodworking machinery preferred.
  • Six sigma certification a plus
  • High level of statistical knowledge and the ability to apply analysis techniques to product and process improvement projects.
  • Ability to break down complex situations and perform analysis of complex data and information to deliver effective solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Effective teaching and training skills.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, etc.)

• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and talk, hear and see.
• Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
