Procurement Associate (Finance)



Job Purpose: Under the routine guidance of a Sourcing Manager, this position is responsible for providing primary procurement support to the Linde operations team. Incumbents in this position regularly facilitate purchasing needs for the operations team, manage a small set of commodities/services, and will meet or exceed hard savings goals. Principal Responsibilities: - Primary procurement contact for up to three of the five U.S. operating regions. - Assist Plants & Production sourcing managers with both tactical and strategic activities. - In conjunction with Project Management, business, sourcing, and requisitioner: solicits and analyzes quotations; selects successful supplier/contractor and completes purchases within set boundaries. - Procures equipment, materials, engineering, and construction services from approved suppliers at the lowest evaluated cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability and delivery. - Negotiate price, terms and conditions relative to assigned commodities. Drive deals of medium to high complexity to successful conclusion without exposing new or unanticipated risk to the quality, timing or reliability for the corporation. - Build effective relationships with business stakeholders. - Uses management control tools and provides feedback to sourcing and business stakeholders. - Is key contact for suppliers, engineering, operations, and project management for assigned commodities. - Follows procurement standards and quality systems. - Focuses on compliance with procurement processes. Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree required. Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Engineering or related fields preferred. - 2 years of experience negotiating & managing contracts. - 2 years of experience in a strategic sourcing / supply chain/ operational role preferred. - Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus. - Demonstrated competency reading and writing technical information. - Strong analytical, organizational, and presentation skills. - Performs routine tasks without regular direction. - Demonstrated success managing projects within set perimeters. - Communicates within a timely manner.
