Proposals Specialist (Finance)
What you'll Do
Manage Americold's proposal writing process and content development activities. Coordinate with subject matter experts and the Business Development team to create customer-oriented, innovative, and industry-leading content for use in responses to customer requests for proposals and information (RFX), sales collateral, and other business development and company activities.
Our Proposal Specialist is an experienced writer, skilled at creating customer-oriented pitches, descriptions, and presentations, adjusting language and theme, as appropriate, for each. The position requires exceptional writing, editing and presentation creation skills and proven project management capabilities.
- Owning Americold's content management system and leveraging its capabilities to create the library of materials required for Americold to achieve its business development goals. This includes decision making on types of content and creation of content.
- Correctly identifying proposal win themes, value-adding activities, and customer benefits to provide compelling, consistent, and creative content for a variety of communications to support business development activities and influence action.
- Collaboration with key stakeholders such as the business development owner, supply chain solutions team, operations, commercial finance, HR, and other teams as required.
- Maintaining Americold's brand standards throughout all created materials.
- Managing content library information to ensure accuracy by establishing regular feedback/refresher activities with subject matter experts.
- Strong project management skills for meeting project deadlines by effectively prioritizing activities and setting and monitoring target dates with contributors.
- Delivering a high volume of materials in a timely and efficient manner.
- Other duties as requested.
What Experience and Education You Need
- Bachelor's degree in business, Communications, English, or a related field
- 5+ years in a similar role
- Demonstrable competence in a content management system
- Exceptional Microsoft Word and PowerPoint application capabilities
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Experience in the Supply Chain, Warehousing, Distribution, Transportation or Operations industries is ideal
What Could Set You Apart
- Demonstrable experience with Salesforce and/or HubSpot
- Ability to communicate professionally, both written and verbally with individuals at all levels of the organization, external contacts, customers, and potential customers
- Ability to work in matrix managed environment, experience with balancing requests from multiple managers
- Progressive, flexible and team-oriented approach desired.
- Possess a proactive approach with strong customer service orientation
Physical Requirements
- Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions
- Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bending
- Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work
- Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks
- May require travel by automobile and airplane for business
- May require visits to warehouse operations in temperatures at or below freezing
- May require carrying loads related to travel and the occasional lifting, carrying, positioning, and/or moving of objects weighing up to 20 pounds
- Requires the use of various electronic tools
