OPS - Research Support Specialist (Finance)



The candidate will be working as part of a large NIH-funded study - Voice as a Biomarker of health that aims to create a large database of human voices linked to other health data to better diagnose diseases.

They will be hired as a research support specialist to conduct voice AI research in the field of diversity and inclusion.

This position requires expertise in clinical research as well as machine learning and acoustic data management. Work at this level is non-exempt and represents the basic level of analytical contribution to the research. Research Support Specialists participate in projects and are not responsible for management of projects or final interpretation of results. A position in this class may perform some general administrative duties such as monitoring budgets, and drafting administrative forms and reports, however the work is primarily scientific and analytical.This position requires a University Degree or equivalent and four years of experience in research support. College education may be substituted for the required experience on a year for year basis.

FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.

This position may be subject to a Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check.

  • Collect and store acoustic data
  • Prepare acoustic data for AI-Readiness
  • Analyze voice data using acoustic analysis
  • Collect data from program participants.
  • May Travel to remote sites to gather data.
  • Drafts portions of publications or training manuals. Produces graphs, charts and tables from data.
  • Places information on the project website, including data gathering forms. Investigates related websites for format and content.
  • Collect and analyze clinical data for retrospective clinical studies
  • Provides information on studies to potential program participants and the general public.
