Prudential Retirement Strategies' Institutional Business Technology Services team is leading several Agile technology initiatives that will transform and continually improve upon industry-leading technology platforms for their Institutional product lines. These products include Pension Risk Transfer, International Reinsurance, Structured Settlements, Stable Value, and Contracts.

This Product Owner role will be leading an agile team focused on overhauling recordkeeping capabilities for our Pension Risk Transfer business as such we are highly interested in candidates that have Pension Risk Transfer experience and/or Defined Benefit experience. 

For these initiatives, Agile teams are responsible for developing technology solutions that deliver business value to our customers. The Product Owner is a member of the Agile team responsible for ensuring that the team is focused on the right priorities, playing a critical role in maximizing the value that their Agile team produces.

As Product Owner, you will develop and drive the vision and strategy for your Agile team, providing constant feedback to ensure your team's alignment with that vision. You will collaborate with business partners, developers, designers, Journey Analysts and the Chief Product Owner to define a roadmap for a product or products that deliver value to customers quickly and effectively. You will be accountable for the development, prioritization, and delivery of the team's backlog of work – ensuring that the team understands the work to be done, works on the right thing at the right time, and ultimately delivers a quality product to the customer.

*This is a hybrid role. The expectation is that candidates have the ability to work from one of the following Prudential locations:
Scranton PA, Newark NJ, or Hartford CT.

What you can expect:

  • Set an ambitious & clear vision for your assigned Agile team; communicate that vision effectively to key stakeholders, Agile team members, and members of related teams and journeys.

  • Own the end-to-end strategy and roadmap for your assigned Agile team and ensure alignment between roadmap and product-level Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).

  • Continuously refine & improve team backlog; ensure all items are clearly described, estimated, prioritized, and released within milestones set by the roadmap and OKRs.

  • Ensure customer-driven design, using market & industry knowledge, usability test results, and continual research to deliver a well-positioned product that addresses user pain points.

What you'll need:

  • Strong business knowledge of institutional products.

  • Excellent work ethic, with an ability to be self-motivated; able to manage changing priorities and meet aggressive deadlines.

  • Proven ability to be a "servant leader" in a non-hierarchical environment, embracing an Agile mindset that evolves with the business.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively & manage the needs of team members, leadership, and multiple business partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize data to illuminate key findings and areas of opportunity + summarize findings that educate key stakeholders in a way that is meaningful and compelling.

  • Should possess strong project management skills or have prior Product Owner experience.

  • Change champion with the passion to challenge status quo to find innovative solutions and drive out of the box ideas.

  • Travel may be required (approximately 5-10%).

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

It'd be a plus if you had:

  • Deeper knowledge of the Institutional Businesses particularly Pension Risk Transfer is a plus.

  • Experience in Scrum, SAFe, New Way of Working (NWoW) or another Agile environment is a plus.

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $128,100.00 to $190,700.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
  • Market competitive base salaries, with a yearly bonus potential at every level.
