The Senior Concept Development Engineering is responsible for project conceptual design development and technical support to commercial and asset optimization groups. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Project conceptual design.
Work with commercial sponsors to examine the feasibility for projects as they are proposed.
Develop a scope of work, design basis, preliminary schedule and cost estimate for plants, pipelines, and facilities and assisting commercial in the financial analysis of the proposed project in order to make a go/no-go decision.
Technical Support to the Commercial group.
Assist commercial in evaluation of proposed projects including interface with customers/partners in developing the technical aspects of projects.
Technical support to Operations and Project and Field engineering in front end engineering development work for major infrastructure projects.
Provide direction to technical support staff in completing assignments.
Mentor junior staff members in skill development.
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
A minimum of an Engineering or Technical degree is required.
An MBA in preferred.
Experience with hydraulic/process analysis and simulation software tools is required.
A minimum of 15 years experience as a pipeline or plant engineer dealing with all aspects of project development and execution is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, is required.
Experienced in project management on major capital projects is required.
Exposure to operations requirements is preferred.
Exposure to financial evaluation of projects is preferred.
Must be competent in directing others, including technical support staff.
Must possess excellent analytical skills and have the ability to successfully analyze projects as envisioned and develop practical conceptual designs necessary to meet project requirements.
Must have some exposure to financial analysis models and the requirements associated.
Must have effective communication skills, both verbal and in writing, across all levels of the organization and with both internal and external customers.
