Director of Mortgage Sales (Marketing)

What You'll Do:
Directly leads performance of Mortgage Sales and Secondary Marketing. Provides coaching and leadership for the sales and secondary teams to ensure overall success. Develops mortgage lending strategies in partnership with the VP – Mortgage Lending to meet the credit union's organizational goals. Develops new relationships and participates in activities to increase the credit union's share of the mortgage market in all of Royal's footprint. Represents Royal Credit Union in the communities we serve in leadership roles as appropriate. Drives efficiency to maximize production, maximize profit, and minimize delinquency rates.

What's Needed For This Position:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or equivalent related experience
  • Five (5) years of experience in a Mortgage Sales role
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience leading sales positions
  • Experience working with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, and all investor manuals
  • Thorough understanding of the impact of secondary market operations on the Credit Union
  • Successful track record of sales and business development
  • Valid NMLS License upon hire
  • Must be bondable upon hire
  • Valid Driver's License and insured vehicle

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

  • Strategic Leadership: Ability to develop and execute mortgage sales strategies aligned with organizational goals, while leading high-performing teams.
  • Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of mortgage products, investor guidelines, and secondary market operations.
  • Analytical & Forecasting Skills: Proficient in pipeline management, forecasting, and using data to drive decisions and improve performance.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across departments and with external partners.
  • Technology & Compliance: Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital tools; ensures compliance with federal and state regulations.

We'd Love To See:

  • Experience developing sales strategies for a variety of markets

Location/Work Schedule:

  • We are open to this person working in our MN or WI market but must live within our footprint.
  • This is a full-time exempt level position typically working Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 5 PM.  Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required.

Training:

  • Prior to starting a normal work schedule, new Royal team members must attend Foundation Training at our Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI from 9:00am - 4:30pm on Monday and Tuesday during their first week of employment. Out of town learners will be reimbursed costs related to travel and lodging.
    • Foundation Training covers fundamental information about Royal's culture and core values which sets the stage for team members to be successful within our organization.
