Director, Equipment Logistics - Crowley Liner Services (Finance)
Summary:
Responsible for the development and execution of global equipment strategies for Crowley Liner Services, ensuring equipment availability aligns with operational demands at the lowest possible cost.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic guidance to equipment control and intermodal field managers on policies, procedures, technical issues, and performance objectives.
- Conduct audits of domestic and offshore field operations to ensure consistency and compliance. Identify and clearly define operational issues, applying structured, data-driven methods to determine root causes.
- Manage the expansion and contraction of the equipment fleet, including the development and implementation of procedures and performance monitoring.
- Oversee equipment interchange with other ocean carriers, including authorization of direct interchanges and subleases.
- Collaborate with Service Management, Marketing, and Pricing teams to align equipment and intermodal strategies with broader corporate goals.
- Ensure all domestic and offshore equipment operations are executed in accordance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Lead and supervise the U.S. Equipment Control team to ensure optimal equipment flow at ports, adherence to inventory management practices, and timely equipment assignments.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation, or a related field. Equivalent post-secondary education and experience may be considered.
- Experience:
- 7-10 years of experience in the transportation industry.
- 5-7 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient in C Sight, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Power BI, and data analytics tools.

Working Conditions:
Primarily an office-based role with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or temperature extremes. Requires extended periods of computer use and sitting.
