Job Description
Primary Function of Position

The Sr. Contracts Manager - Operations plays a critical part managing and negotiating a broad range of complex agreements that support the clinical, regulatory, research and development, transportation and logistics, and MRO equipment operations. The Sr. Contracts Manager - Operations will negotiate contractual terms and conditions with suppliers/partners to ensure company and legal compliance in the procurement of Intuitive's products and services.

Essential Job Duties

  • Build strong relationships with key partners at different levels of the organization including legal, operations, and logistics.
  • Consult on key points of law and commercial best practice, interpreting complex terms and conditions and advising of contractual rights and obligations.
  • Responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts that establish business relationships with suppliers.
  • Analyze contracts to ensure compliance to company policy, government regulations, applicable laws, and other requirements.
  • Analyze, interpret, and respond to legal issues presented in contracts.
  • Negotiate legal terms and conditions with supplier's counsel.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
  • Expert in negotiating key legal terms and conditions
  • Knowledge of contract management best practices and commercial contract law
  • Provide legal guidance to internal stakeholders on contract terms, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance
  • Develop and continuously improve contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation guidelines.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and create and reset priorities as needed
  • Effective time management skills; able to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Demonstrates a positive and flexible attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence and persuade others
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and ability to work extended hours as needed

Required Education and Training
  • Related Bachelor's Degree required
  • CPCM or J.D. desired
  • Minimum 8-10+ years prior legal experience with complex contract negotiation
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant legal experience focused on pharmaceutical or biotech contracts.

Working Condition
  • Capacity to maintain seated for extended periods.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Prior in-house counsel or legal operations experience at a biotech, pharma, or life sciences company.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property and licensing issues in the biotech space.
  • Comfortable working with international contracts and cross-border transactions.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1: $181.400 USD - $261.000 USD
Base Salary Range Region 2: $154.200 USD - $221.800 USD
Shift: Day
Workplace Type: Set Schedule - This job will be onsite weekly, the percentage of onsite work will be defined by the leader. Apply
