Sales Operation Manager

Orlando, FL (Hybrid)

Position Summary

Thales is looking for an Sales Operations Manager, whose role will play a significant role on the M&S side of the business as it relates to data management, analytics & forecasting. As such, he/she will be responsible for, but not limited to, task automation, leveraging data and technology to support the M&S organization, maintain existing sales reports, design new reports as needed and conducting analyses to gain deeper insights into AGS business.

In this position, it requires continuous interaction with the Thales Account Management Teams and Thales Central Marketing and Sales. This position will manage and oversee all activity within his/her assigned accounts. This includes, but is not limited to, strategy development, forecast development and maintenance as well as gross margin performance tracking.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Be the regional focal point for all aspects of M&S commercial performance (OI, Sales, GM) reporting. Prepare and maintain all data linked to the various forecasting processes for all Service Lines. Consolidate developments and prepare comparative analyses of the data. Monitor forecasting accuracy. Manage all Order Intake and Sales data reporting, with the objective of providing the Account Management Teams with visibility of their customer base performance.
  • Work with the other SOM's on the team to: Find ways to automate/streamline frequent tasks. Build the annual budgets by customer, platform, geographic location, etc. Integrate digital transformation tools into our existing processes. Study data with the intention of identifying KPI's and other potentially relevant sales metrics. Create reports as needed to support the M&S business.
  • Owns the commercial performance of the assigned customer base. Build models and tools that help the business identify and increase market share. Develop, renew and maintain the current year's actual plan to performance by Service Line by customer (Forecasting File) as well as the yearly Sales and Bookings Forecast (MYB).
  • Maintain, and consistently update, the roadmap to meeting and delivering to those targeted Forecasting File and MYB objectives. Support the sales team and work with them towards achieving the Sales, Bookings and GM objectives.
  • Help to identify new opportunities with the sales team.  Perform market assessments to identify and help develop marketing approaches and offerings to the Americas airlines marketplace.
  • Establish strong and constructive relationships within the Central organization (for all Piscataway based business units) and work with these colleagues to achieve positive business results. Provide any reports, analysis and/or information to Director, Sales Operations on an as needed basis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study with a minimum of 5-8+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree in a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience. Minimum of 5 years' of industry related experience in a sales and/or services capacity working with airlines and/or OEMs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail when managing complex excel models, forecasts, sales data; able to catch and correct inconsistencies before they impact business decisions.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and handle pressure situations/short deadlines.  Ability to understand and present Thales' product and services offerings.
  • Strong financial planning and budgeting experience.  Strong interpersonal skills and professional presentation skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Skills and ability to deal with satisfied and dissatisfied internal and external customers.
  • Extremely high level of understanding and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with data analytics.

The reference Total Target Compensation(TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between

Total Target Cash (TTC): 79,530.00 - 108,645.00 - 148,314.00 USD Annual

This reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs. This range helps the Company make pay decisions as one data point among many. Where a position falls within this range is also dependent on other factors including – but not limited to – the employee's career path history, competencies, skills and performance, as well as the company's annual salary budget, the customer's program requirements, and the company's internal equity. Thales may offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's status protected by local, state, or federal law.
