Overnight Operations Lead Supervisor (Transportation)



Job Summary:   

The Overnight Operations Lead Supervisor plays a critical role in supporting the Columbia office's overnight success. This role is responsible for managing overnight parking lot operations, leading a diverse team, and operating equipment when needed. The Lead Supervisor must have strong leadership and office management skills and be able to perform field duties such as driving sweeper trucks and performing safety inspections. This position requires a flexible, hands-on leader who can thrive in both the field and office environments.

Job Responsibilities:    

  • Ensure success of all overnight non-CDL and CDL teams
  • Create weekly/monthly schedules and daily parking lot routes
  • Submit safety alerts or notification within required time limits
  • Quality assurance and client research
  • Physically in field 25-50% of time depending on season
  • Operate Air Sweeper/Mechanical Broom Sweeper, and Dump Truck to remove debris, including broken pavement, asphalt and concrete millings, mud and constructions materials or parking lot debris build-up due to seasonal/weather changes and parking lot waste.   
  • Perform required inspection of Air Sweeper, Mechanical Broom Sweeper, and Dump Truck prior to operating equipment  
  • Preform minor mechanical checks of truck & equipment  
  • Wear proper and required PPE  
  • Review scheduled routes assigned   
  • Be proactive and ask questions if route is unclear   
  • Perform the safe operation of an Air Sweeper, Mechanical Broom Truck, and Dump Truck
  • Complete assigned job(s) in the time allotted  
  • Maintain quality of work   
  • Track completed tasks and/or routes (sweep validation per procedures)   
  • Exercise extra caution during inclement weather   
  • Report any equipment failures within 8 hours and any near misses, accidents, or injuries immediately to site management
  • Verify all team members fill trucks up when returning to the shop at the end of their shift 
  • Perform all other duties assigned   

Job Requirements:  

  • CDL Preferred
  • Strong office skills
  • Prior leadership experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience closely related to the field of work. 
  • Valid Driver's license required.  
  • Requires work performed in outdoor environments/• Exposure to variable and adverse weather conditions.   
  • Exposure to noise, vibrations, jarring, fumes grease oil & chemicals.   
  • Active, physical work involving occasionally; lifting (50+ lbs.), carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching; walking, standing, and driving and operating equipment for extended periods of time.   
  • Requires focus adjustment, depth perception, clear close & distant vision. Use of ear, eye and other safety equipment. 
  • Requires regular use of hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. 
  • Physically in field 25-50% of time depending on season
  • Ability to communicate and follow-up with customers
  • DOT Physical Required - paid for by Company.
