Project Manager Marketing (Finance)



Overview

We are seeking a full-time Project Manager Marketing in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, overseeing and leading packaging development for multiple products in a specified Garmin market/segment and manage new product launch activities.

Essential Functions

  • Manage new product launch activities including website set-up, product imagery, and Oracle pricing
  • Create marketing product announcements using Adobe software and lead the Launch Review for all new Consumer products being announced
  • Collaborate with business segment leaders, Garmin Europe/Taiwan/Salem and departments within Garmin including Marketing Communications, IT, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, etc. on various tasks
  • Manage the creation and development of the physical packaging design by collaborating with other Garmin Departments and analyzing budgetary, contractual, legal, customer and Garmin requirements
  • Create and manage detailed packaging development schedules
  • Analyze the development status for all packaging items to ensure readiness for pilot run and mass production
  • Execute and implement Garmin procedures for packaging development and release, manage and facilitate packaging development design review meetings, and report on packaging development status during Engineering team meetings
  • Create and manage bill of materials and develop Engineering Change Orders
  • Collect new product information, product specifications, set-up and distribute to applicable marketing and sales staff company wide
  • Set-up and maintain Garmin products and their accessories in the e-commerce database and other internal tools for webpage set-up and pricing
  • Analyze the status and recommend the course of action for all marketing activities required for a successful product launch
  • Develop dealer and distributor Marketing announcements and content, including new product, price reductions, rebate, promotions, and end-of-life announcements
  • Collaborate with various groups to manage the development of product/accessory imagery, manage the development of product screenshots, manage the development of dummy units, and manage packaging job priorities
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree OR a minimum of 4 years work experience performing a marketing focused role OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and lead in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Must demonstrate a proven track record in providing excellent customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential company matters
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Desired Qualifications
  • Extensive Garmin product knowledge
  • Strong interest, appreciation and knowledge using Garmin products in markets such as outdoor, fitness, boating and automotive
  • Familiar with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Familiar with JIRA and Confluence
