Azure System Administrator (Finance)



As the Azure System Administrator will own and be responsible for configuring, monitoring, and optimizing all Azure services to ensure high availability, security, and performance. This role requires expertise in cloud computing, networking, and automation to support the company's cloud strategy.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Deploy, configure, and manage Microsoft Azure environments, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and security.

• Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of Azure-based applications.

• Implement security best practices, including role-based access control (RBAC), firewalls, and compliance policies.

• Maintain Azure Active Directory (AAD) and hybrid identity solutions.

• Automate tasks using PowerShell

• Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.

• Troubleshoot system and network issues, providing timely resolutions.

• Optimize Azure costs by monitoring usage and rightsizing resources.

• Stay up-to-date with Azure updates, trends, and best practices.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

• At least three years of experience in an Azure Cloud System Administrator role with the ability to multi-task, have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-stress situations, ability to communicate issues to peers and management

• Experience with NIST and ISO frameworks

• Azure Certification

• DoD 8570 Certification

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• 3+ years building infrastructure and troubleshooting issues

• 3+ years solid understanding of Cyber Security & IT controls, network / systems / vulnerability assessments

• Expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud platform

• Experience with hybrid cloud environments and on-premises-to-cloud migrations.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

• Proficiency in PowerShell

• Knowledge of networking (VPCs, subnets, load balancers, private endpoints)

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment

• College degree in CIS, Computer Science, a related field, or relevant training and experience

• Security - must know how to securely set up global access on Azure

• Cost Optimization - improve costs and be more efficient in an Azure environment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Accuracy and attention to detail and quality orientation is a must.

• Must be able to self-organize workloads and manage all deadlines.
