Summary of Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer position will be an advancement position for those individuals which have demonstrated through a broader range of knowledge, education, skills, or talents the ability and initiative to contribute in a significant manner to the goals and objectives of Production Engineering, Operations and the Company.

Responsibilities and Tasks (listed in bullet format) in order of priority to be successful

  • Assignments for this position will be of a broader scope, difficulty, and responsibility.
  • Multiple Program Responsibility will be assigned with latitude as to scope and duration
  • Coordinate between engineering, production and management for the effective and efficient manufacture of the product and delivery to the customer.
  • The development and presentation of data, proposals and projects to a diverse group of personnel.
  • Develop all needed production file documentation from engineering data packages, engineering change orders, and all other sources of data.
  • Project lead for build process and documentation, configuration changes, methods and tools for production programs.
  • Identify and participate in producibility and cost improvement projects.
  • Support outsourcing and make/buy decisions.
  • Keep abreast of current and evolving manufacturing technologies.
  • Provide preliminary review dispositions along with required repair/rework instruction on discrepant product.
  • Take a lead role in make/buy decisions.
  • Transfer of build processes from/to other facilities.
  • Lead lean and process improvement efforts.
  • The training and mentoring of new and existing employees; especially other engineers.
  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education, Experience & License or Certification

Education, Experience & License or Certification

  • Master degree is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Specific Degree Field Required: Engineering
  • 10+ years of functional (using skill set) experience is required
  • 10+ years of industry experience is required
  • Training Pre-requisites (Within One Year of Taking Position):
    • ESD
    • Safety Training, as dictated by Safety Department

  • Knowledge and Experience in Electronic Assembly Manufacturing

  • The ability to use Microsoft Word and Photo programs to produce Production files
  • The skill to work issues internationally
  • The skill to work effectively in teams
  • The ability to use and manage configuration management software
  • The skill to work and perform in a union environment
  • The skill to work effectively across organizational and functional boundaries
  • The ability to obtain Security Clearance
