Junior Resident Engineer (Finance)

Role description:

We are currently seeking a Junior Resident Engineer to join our Water Business Line in our Middletown, CT or East Greenwich, RI office. This position will be heavily involved in fieldwork in New London, CT. The Junior Resident Engineer is responsible for overseeing and inspecting construction projects to ensure compliance with national standards, codes of practice, and project specifications.

Role accountabilities:

As a Junior Resident Engineer you will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of water engineering and lead service line replacement projects. Your role will involve supporting the management of projects and providing inspection services for lead service line replacements projects. Fieldwork activities will be an integral part of your experience, where you will have the chance to conduct site visits, perform inspections, and provide construction oversight as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field inspections and supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards
  • Use specialized equipment and techniques to perform duties, collecting data to support project delivery
  • Prepare and complete project documentation, ensuring alignment with company and client requirements
  • Assist in the implementation of Health & Safety plans on-site
  • Develop technical skills and knowledge to effectively support a range of construction projects
  • Manage and inspect equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and safety compliance

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and a solid work ethic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and have the initiative to take on new projects and challenges regularly. Self-motivated and team-oriented, this individual should demonstrate flexibility and the ability to balance and address evolving priorities effectively. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for this role, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in a technical area.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior internship or coursework in water/wastewater, water resources, or related sectors.
  • Detailed knowledge of national standards and codes
  • Pursuing a BS in Engineering, Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, or another closely related academic discipline.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $41,222- $61,833. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
