Maintenance Assistant (Maintenance)

Purpose:

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for equipment repair and preventative maintenance. Scheduling future PM and record keeping, records of completed repairs and maintenance will be logged in an audit accessible data base. Assistant will requisition repair supplies and chemicals. This position is responsible for the labeling of and appropriate disposal of hazardous waste. Local delivery and pickup will be part of the routine. Will act as department Leader in the Supervisor's absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Timely acquisition of supplies and repair materials
  • Keeping production equipment in a state of acceptable repair
  • Maintaining a presentable facility through painting and cleaning.
  • Storage of hazardous chemicals and disposition of hazardous waste
  • Coordination of delivery.
  • Operate industrial powered truck. Forklift.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • High School-Grad equivalent of general diploma with 2+ years in maintenance repairs or related.
  • Able to work independently or in a team effort.
  • Detail-oriented and able to consistently follow instructions.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Good time management skills and able to work in an efficient manner.
  • Display a high level of safety consciousness.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers as appropriate.
  • Ability to read and understand applicable written Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Work Instructions, and manufacturer's operating manuals

Range: $22.00 - $24.50 p/h
