Launch & Deployment Project Manager

The Project Manager will drive projects from inception to completion. This role involves being a problem-solver, strategic thinker, and leader who connects operational needs with business goals. The Launch & Deployment Project Manager will manage complete project lifecycles, ensuring our logistics and manufacturing solutions not only meet but exceed expectations. This role entails mobilizing and leading cross-functional teams and engaging with all facets of the business unit, including customers, design, procurement, engineering, human resources, information technology, finance, operations, and post-launch activities. Project Managers will get involved with a project towards the end of the sales cycle when the business opportunity is promising. Once assigned, the Project Manager will oversee projects in accordance with the Launch & Deployment Methodology.

Project Planning:

Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resources and budget trackingEnsure all resources, timelines, and budgets are optimized for success. From initial concept to final delivery, ensure every project milestone is met and that the final product is fully operational, on time, and within budgetDrive projects forward using the Launch & Deployment Methodology, manage priorities, and maintain momentum across cross-functional teams

Resources Management:

Allocate resources, including team members, equipment, and materials as per budget Ensure optimal resources utilization to meet project objectives Escalate risks with resources constraints

Team leadership:

Act as a liaison between clients, internal teams, and external vendors, ensuring all parties are aligned on goals and deliverables.? Assign tasks, set goals and provide clear direction to ensure team alignment and productivity Lead and motivate project team
Stakeholder communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact between the project team and stakeholdersRegularly update stakeholders on project progress, risks and any necessary changesCommunicate customer-requested scope changes and project gaps to Solutions Design and project stakeholders

Risk Management:

Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategiesMonitor and manage risks throughout the project life cycleManage project risks and develop contingency plans as needed

Budget management:

Track and manage project budgetEnsure that expenses are within the allocated budget and engage with sponsor when changes are neededProvide updates on projects financial status

Quality control:

Ensure project deliverables meet the required standards and specifications Conduct stage gate reviews at various stages of the project

Time management:

Monitor project timelines to ensure milestones are metMake schedule adjustments as needed to keep the project on track

Problem Solving:

Proactively address challenges and obstacles that may arise during the project Develop and implement solutions to maintain project momentum

Reporting:

Create and maintain project documentation throughout the life of the projectPrepare and deliver regular project status reports to stakeholders Include progress updates, risk assessment, and any deviations from the plan Review proposals, contracts and new orders for accuracy and commercial and technical issuesRecord and maintain customer escalations and requested commercial changes and / or scope changes

Project closure:

Oversee the completion of all project activitiesObtain final approvals from stakeholdersConduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and apply them to future projects Participate in all TVS SCS quality and excellence initiatives.

Competencies

Experience with traditional project management techniques (waterfall)Ability to manage projects using a combination of agile and waterfall techniques if necessaryProficiency in tools such as Microsoft Project, Wrike, Asana, or similarProficiency in tools such as MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS TeamsStrong skills in financial management for budgeting and cost-trackingProven ability to lead and motivate diverse teamsExcellent verbal and written communication skills to influence and guide teamsAbility to negotiate with stakeholders to reach optimal outcomesProven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectivelyComprehension of the linked supply chain process and its impact on upstream and downstream processesDemonstrated independent critical and decision-making skills working with ambiguous dataDemonstrated understanding of Just-in-time (JIT) logistics including contingency planning and commercial risk mitigation

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit or stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The associate may occasionally be required to lift 51 pounds, anything greater than 51 pounds requires assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

This job is performed in a combination of office, warehouse, and manufacturing environments. The role may be performed in a hybrid schedule with 80% in-plant / in-office in conjunction with 20% scheduled remote working. The role may occasionally be performed onsite at customer or vendor locations.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full-Time, Exempt. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required.

Travel

This role is expected to support all locations, including new site start-ups. Annual travel is expected to be less than 50%, with longer-term deployments required for new business launches.

Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in project management, Business Administration or related fieldProven track record (5+ years) in delivering complex projects from inception to completion, preferably within logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing Proven track record (+5 years) in leading groups of 10 or more PMP, PRINCE2 certification preferredSix Sigma Black Belt preferred
