This research is part of the National Science Foundation funded project Regional Estuary Assessment of Community Health (REACH) which seeks to better understand the integrated socio-environmental system of Tampa Bay. Comprehensive social science surveys will provide essential information about the fishing habits of shore- and boat-based fishers including common locations, species consumed, and culturally important practices. Combined with information about the transport of chemical pollutants in Tampa Bay and their concentrations in different fish species, this research will allow us to better understand the relative risks of contaminated seafood consumption to fishers based on the areas and species they may target.Must be comfortable speaking with new people in diverse contexts. Preferred skills include familiarity with google forms, keen observational skills, and the ability to stay organized. Any fishing experience or ability to speak Spanish or Vietnamese is a plus.
