Logistics Coordinator (Transportation)
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily execution of transportation activities. This role ensures consistent communication with transportation and logistics providers across all modes for both inbound and outbound shipments. Additional responsibilities include maintaining transportation policies and procedures, investigating shipment discrepancies related to overages, shortages, and damages, and assisting in the development of corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule, tender, track, and trace all inbound and outbound shipments using the Transportation Management System (TMS) and direct carrier communication.
- Act as a liaison between carriers, Customer Solutions, Distribution, and other internal and external stakeholders to provide updates and resolve inquiries.
- Manage Customer Pickup (CPU) outbound orders, including routing through online portals and scheduling appointments in the TMS.
- Assist in the investigation of shipment discrepancies, validate freight invoices, and collect supporting documentation such as proof of delivery, lumper receipts, and bills of lading (BOLs).
- Support reporting and analysis of transportation costs, equipment availability, and service levels.
