Risk Management Assistant Manager (Finance)



The Risk Management Assistant Manager serves as the contact for government and outside entities such as OSHA, CDC, ADA, Fire Municipals, and outside Legal.   • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word & Excel)
  • Basic knowledge of HRIS, InfoPac and Business Objects.
  • Ability to multi-task, handle diverse situations and ability to work with little oversight
  • Strong communication skills and a high degree of initiative and motivation.
  • High integrity and ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours.
  • Must be available to assist other Kroger divisions if needed.
  • Some of the Competencies/Skills required to successfully perform this position are: Building Strategic Working Relationships, Building Good Communication, Customer Focus, Inclusion and Safety Awareness.
  • Promote safety awareness through teamwork, communications, education and recognition programs
  • Works closely with the Kroger Customer Connect Executive communications team to provide solutions to customer concerns
  • Highly skilled in de-escalation for various encounters across both divisions
  • Oversee the Behavior Risk Improvement process and ensure all essential features are in place
  • Lead the investigation of all small claim cases
  • Develop initiatives, policies, and training that proactively address safety concerns and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company health and safety policies
  • Promote hazard identification and make recommendations for corrective action
  • Participate in safety audits and ensure corrective and/or preventative action is taken
  • Develop, train, and maintain effective emergency response team to ensure appropriate measures are taken in the event of an emergency
  • Track safety metrics and identify trends
  • Liaison annual training for CPR and Earthquake preparedness
  • Update emergency evacuation maps annually for stores and office
  • Responsible for monthly audit of the OSHA 300 log and resolution of errors with claims administrators
  • Ensure divisions are updated on all safety policies and regulations as laws pass
  • Create safety procedures and policies for programs needed for state specific needs (California)
