Overall Responsibilities:
Responsible for safely operating a tractor trailer at all times and transfer trailers in a professional manner. Safely operates and maintains company vehicle in compliance with all company, Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather and to work every Saturday.
Overtime may be built into the schedule and Saturday availability is required.
1 - 3 years manufacturing experience preferred. Leer provides full time hours, overtime, & 10 paid holidays from date of hire. Eligibility for a competitive benefit package is after only 30 days of full time employment and includes paid holidays, group health insurance, prescription drug coverage, dental, vision, short-term disability and a 401(k) plan. Paid vacation after 1 year.

Requirements:
Must have transportation, NOT accessible by public transportation
Pass a 7 year criminal background check and drug screen
Will be working for a growing, well-established fiberglass truck cap manufacturing company.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Inspect vehicles prior to, during and after each day's assignment.
2. Maintain a high level of cleanliness of the vehicles interior and exterior.
3. Accurately report any and all trailer problems and or deficiencies.
4. Check in daily with Transportation Manager to discuss problems with the trailers.
5. Immediately report any and all traffic accidents, injuries, inspection and infractions to Transportation Manager.
6. Follows all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in accordance with State and Federal law. Complies with all safety and company rules and regulations.
7. Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (in good standing), with 3+ years driving experience and a safe driving record.
8. Assist loaders in the yard as needed.
9. Other duties as assigned or needed by the Transportation Manager.
Minimum Position Requirements:
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid Commercial Class A Drivers License
• Minimum of 3 years tractor trailer driving experience.
• Requires high degree of attention, skill, and dexterity in the control of tractor-trailer and in preventing damage to materials and trailer equipment.
• Must meet DOT physical and medical requirements, as a safety sensitive employee and be subject to DOT random substance abuse testing.
MVR Guidelines
It is preferred that our Drivers are able to cross the US/Canadian border freely. Thus the requirements are steeper than just the MVR Requirements. Drivers Must:
- Have a completely clean record, NO violations
- Be 21 years old
Backing Requirements
- On our lots with very tight quarters.
Automatically Unqualified if:
- Felony charge
- Misdemeanor charge
- DUI
