Systems Engineer II (Finance)

TransCore (TCI), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a talented and experienced Systems Engineer II to join our team in the Atlanta metropolitan area (Peachtree Corners) in Georgia.

Summary

TransCore is a leading provider of intelligent transportation system (ITS) software in North America. TransCore's TransSuite Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) software suite is deployed in over 50 cities. TransCore is looking for a System Engineer with a passion for solving technical computer and network problems.

Work arrangement - This is an on-site position, and the selected candidate must be willing and able to work from the office in alignment with the team's schedule. Relocation assistance is available.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

The successful candidate for this System Engineer position will work with various TransCore clients and the TransSuite development team to solve client issues involving:

• Installation, configuration and update of Windows Server, SQL Server, and Web Servers in multiple environments, including:
  • Virtual environments with Hyper-V and VMware
  • Cloud environments such as Google Cloud, AWS
  • High reliability server configurations
• Installation and update of TransSuite software in multiple environments
• Reconfiguration of existing TransSuite deployments for new computers and networks
• Diagnosing and recommending changes for conflicts between TransSuite and other 3 rd party software such as system backup management software
• Assisting clients and development staff with installation and configuration of field equipment such as:
  • Intersection controllers
  • Variable message signs
  • CCTV
  • Diagnosing and correcting field communication problems
  • Diagnosing and correcting field equipment configuration problems
• Create and maintain clear and complete documentation of the configuration at each site.
• Create and maintain installation procedures and processes
• Travel to client sites when required.

Requirements and qualifications:

• Minimum of a BS in Engineering (Software/Computer preferred)
• 7 years working with multiple types of ITS devices such as intersection controllers, cameras, variable message signs.
• Windows Server setup and configuration including virtualized servers.
• Linux Server setup and configuration.
• TCP/UDP/IP network configurations and how to use Wireshark.
• Network management technologies such as SNMP.
• Video delivery technologies (RTSP, WebRTC, HLS).
• Working knowledge of SQL and PowerShell.
• Willing and able to travel to client sites when required.
