Vice President, Technology & Operations M&A Enablement (Finance)

Your Team & Role

The Technology and Operations M&A Enablement Leader will be responsible for ensuring seamless integration and separation of technology and operations during mergers/acquisitions and divestitures. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and external transaction stakeholders to perform due diligence and assess, plan, and execute integration strategies that align with our business objectives and transaction terms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquisition Target Assessment:
    • Assist in identifying and evaluating potential acquisition targets' strategic fit, technology capabilities, and operational strengths.
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of target companies' technology infrastructure, operational processes, and service delivery models.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on the potential benefits, viability and risks of acquisition targets.
  • Due Diligence:
    • Conduct thorough due diligence on target companies' technology and operations infrastructure to identify potential risks and opportunities.
    • Collaborate with IT and operations teams to gather detailed information on the target company's technology stack and operational capabilities.
    • Evaluate the compatibility of existing systems, software, and hardware with our own infrastructure.
    • Review cybersecurity measures and data protection protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Assess the scalability and future-proofing of the target company's technology solutions.
    • Analyze operational workflows and processes to determine integration feasibility and identify areas for improvement.
  • Integration Planning, Effort and Cost Estimation:
    • Develop comprehensive integration plans for technology and operations, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
    • Estimate the effort and cost required for integrating technology and operations of acquisition targets.
    • Develop detailed integration budgets, including resource allocation and timeline projections.
    • Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate financial forecasting and budgeting for integration activities.
    • Monitor and report on integration costs and progress to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
    • Work with external consultants, as needed, to develop integration and separation plans.
  • Service Operations:
    • Assess the target company's service operations to ensure alignment with our standards and customer expectations.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
    • Develop strategies to integrate and optimize service operations post-merger.
    • Ensure continuity of service during the integration process to minimize disruption to customers.
  • Process Excellence:
    • Implement best practices in process excellence to streamline operations and improve overall efficiency of integrated technology and operations.
    • Conduct process mapping and analysis to identify areas for process improvement and application of AI.
    • Develop and execute process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the integrated organization.
  • Integration and Separation Management: Lead and manage integration and separation projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including IT, operations, finance, and legal teams, to facilitate smooth integration and separation processes.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with technology and operations integration, ensuring business continuity and minimal disruption.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor the success of integration efforts and report progress to senior management.
  • Change Management: Develop and implement change management strategies to support employees through the transition and ensure adoption of new systems and processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve integration processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

The Skills and Expertise You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in technology and operations integration within M&A contexts, insurance, asset management or financial services preferred.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of insurance and asset management industry best practices and emerging trends in technology and operations.

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $213,000.00 to $288,200.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
