Quality Manager - MD (Finance)

Compensation for this role: 120k to 140K per year, commensurate with experience.

Shift: On-site Monday through Friday - 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM ( Relocation assistance is not available for this position.)

Summary:

Plans, coordinates, and directs quality programs designed to ensure quality control and quality assurance of the production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Areas include receiving inspection, in-process inspection, lot acceptance lab testing, first article inspection, lot acceptance test report, calibration, MRB, QC records, and procedure writing.
  • Direct or Indirect supervision of inspectors, lead operators, quality supervisors, and quality engineers.
  • Responsible for in-house and customer source delegation.
  • Training and training records for all QC inspectors and Quality Delegated personnel.
  • Responsible for purchasing and maintenance of necessary test equipment.
  • Interface with customers and vendors as necessary to resolve any product quality problems.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the quality department.
  • Train appropriate Engineers and supervisors in problem-solving and root cause(s) identification techniques.
  • Facilitate team through root cause(s) identification discovery.
  • Works in a safe manner following all departmental and plant safety rules. Reports any unsafe work conditions to Safety Manager, supervisor, or management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant technical field.
  • Ten (10) years of quality experience to include 5 years of supervisory experience in a quality department required.
  • Experience in the commercial or defense aerospace industry is desired.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, Nadcap, and managing a quality management system.
  • Experience with compliance, internal and external auditing, and root cause/corrective actions.
  • Ability to read and interpret Industry and Customer specifications as it relates to materials and processes in the aerospace industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Acceptable vision test results (as applicable).
  • Must have English reading, writing and verbal communication skills sufficient to read, write, and understand and communicate the company operating procedures and policies.

Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
