Machine Operator (Finance)



SUMMARY The Press Brake Operator is an advanced skilled position, with responsibility for set-up and operation of CNC controlled forming. The operator receives work assignments and will need to work under limited supervision, able to resolve most problems with limited assistance. All work will be first piece inspected to minimize rework or scrap, with final inspections/testing. The Press brake operator will be expected to adhere to all safety guidelines, company policies and 5S standards. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Review of production orders and interpret accompanying work instructions and drawings, to determine job requirements. Run bend and forming operations, using standard and custom dies. Perform complex programming, using all features of the Brake Press. Have experience with the setup and bend of various gauges and types of sheet metal. Check height, depth and thickness using tape measure, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments. Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and safety. Troubleshoot issues related to machine operation and product quality. *Other duties as required in support of the department and the company* SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES The responsibilities of this role do not include supervising other employees. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE A high school diploma or equivalent, e.g., vocational training, is required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Conversational in any other language is a plus. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS (Select only what is applicable) Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages. Basic Geometry: The ability to understand and work with shapes, angles, lines, and planes. JOB SKILLS Beginner in MS Office Suite and SharePoint. Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred. Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and schematics. Ability to use inspection tools. Ability to measure accurately using a ruler or tape measure. Understanding and experience in a Lean manufacturing environment are preferred. Participate in 5S-related performance teams. Writing skills are required to complete documents and forms. Additionally, the employee will frequently need to reach with hands and arms while standing and walking as part of the role. Occasional lifting and movement of objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds and using a ladder may be required. This position also demands specific vision capabilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Hearing protection in specific locations. Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas.
