HVAC Technician (Maintenance)



Position Summary
The HVAC Technician is responsible for operating, inspecting and maintaining all HVAC equipment and systems in the facility to maximize equipment life expectancy and minimize downtime, while maximizing cultivation yields. An ideal candidate will identify and diagnose equipment issues and keep detailed records of maintenance.
Responsibilities and Duties
? Self-directed, anticipates instructions given by manager; accepts and embraces shifts in priorities
? Conduct routine inspections of buildings and equipment, identifying issues and reporting findings to the Facilities Manager
? Submit and complete work orders accurately and effectively
? Motivate and guide INSA requestors to submit work orders through task management system for improved workorder management
? Perform preventive maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and complete emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
? Install, maintain and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
? Maintain equipment to control space temperature, humidity, cleanliness, and distribution. Uses the psychrometric chart to determine the results of mixing air having various properties.
? Partner with the Manager to procure the best pricing for parts and equipment; retain required documents including equipment manuals, warranty information, and invoices
? Keep logs and records of all maintenance functions.
? Accommodate a flexible schedule and respond to issues or problems rapidly.
? Maintain compliance with Company SOPs and state regulations
? Ensure the work area is kept in clean and safe condition
? Maintain a safe work environment by following applicable safety procedures, wearing appropriate PPE, and reporting injuries, near misses, and hazards to management
? Behave in a manner that is positive, productive, cooperative, and encourages teamwork
? Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
? Must be at least 21 years of age
? High school diploma or GED required
? HVAC Certification Preferred
? 3 years of working experience in HVAC field preferred
? Understanding electrical, HVAC, plumbing and carpentry
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
? Ability to understand and follow directions as given and work with minimal supervision.
? Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
? Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
? Adaptable, proactive, and willing to work weekends and extended hours as needed.
? Must have reliable transportation.
? Must be able to pass a background check in accordance with state regulations.

Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended periods of time (8+ hours)
· Ability to lift/push/carry items up to 50lbs
· Ability to climb a ladder, kneel, stoop, and bend at the waist regularly
· Manual dexterity for handling tools and performing equipment maintenance.
· Visual acuity is needed to accurately read small screens and fine print
Workplace Environment
? Indoor and outdoor maintenance settings, with exposure to mechanical parts and seasonal temperature changes
? Exposure to high places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and loud noises
? Consistent moderate background noise level due to machinery and HVAC
? Exposure to cannabis odor and plant resins (PPE provided)
? Moderate heat and humidity in controlled grow environments
? Exposure to skin contact with plant resins, to which some individuals may be allergic (PPE provided)
