Job Summary

This individual is considered a subject-matter expert in areas that include Quality Systems, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Continuous Improvement and a broad scope of quality and engineering topics. This leader will know how to develop quality programs and support and drive quality performance across multiple manufacturing processes throughout the global supply chain utilizing Key Performance Indicators and Lean tools.

Job Location

This position will be onsite located at our plant in San Antonio, TX.

Job Responsibilities

Management

  • Lead a team of quality supervisors and technicians to implement business wide quality programs and standards across multiple North American manufacturing sites
  • Assess, scope, and build a quality and continuous improvement system capable of supporting company's goals and innovative product objectives that meet's our customer expectations.
  • Perform management responsibilities including but not limited to planning, organizing, delegating, evaluating, budgeting, scheduling, hiring, and training.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends, developments, standards, regulations/laws, issues, news and customer requirements.
  • Enthusiastically collaborate and drive a culture of quality, reliability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Quality

  • Understand business and customer needs and requirements to develop an effective quality management system.
  • Devise and establish a system of procedures, standards, and specifications to meet internal and external (customer and legal/regulatory) requirements.
  • Leverage cross functional team to analyze quality issues within the manufacturing processes. Drive product and process improvements to ensure that our products meet or exceed quality and reliability requirements.
  • Develop, formulate, and guide integrated quality control programs that involve advanced inspection methods, devices, and control techniques.
  • Establish a system to track, record, and maintain quality assurance data.
  • Evaluate, monitor, and report on supplier quality systems.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to an engineering change control process.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 8 to 10 years related experience
  • 5+ years managerial experience
  • Previous quality and continuous improvement experience in working in a high paced manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, communicate, and execute a multi-year global Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement strategy
  • Deep understanding of Lean practices with strong experience leading root cause analysis and continuous improvement through utilization of Lean Tools
  • Travel is expected to be approximately 25% (North America)
  • Effective supervisory skills with demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and influence others.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a matrix organization.
  • In depth understanding of manufacturing plants and processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, resource, and project management skills.
  • Proven analysis and problem-solving skills with the ability to make and execute strategic decisions.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles, data analysis, and statistical methods.
  • Proficient in MS Office and various software (CAD, SCADA, ERP)
  • Self-motivated, performance focused, with the ability to multitask and to work both as part of a team and autonomously.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • No lifting more than 40 pounds without using a forklift, dolly or other apparatus.
  • On occasion, intermittent climbing, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Standing, sedentary work or walking for long periods of time.
