Digital Marketing Intern (Marketing)



Hey Students! Are you passionate about digital media, creative campaigns, and data-driven marketing? Become a Digital Marketing Intern at Royal Credit Union! In this role, you'll help shape our online presence, support exciting digital campaigns, and gain hands-on experience with SEO, analytics, and website content management.

All applicants must be located in the Eau Claire/Chippewa Valley Area & include a resume, cover letter, transcript and their anticipated graduation date when applying. If selected for the internship, you must be able to commit to the full 12 months and be enrolled at a university throughout the length of the internship.

What You'll Do:

The Digital Marketing Intern plays an active role in supporting the marketing team with the planning, execution, and evaluation of marketing projects and campaign initiatives. This position will assist with a wide range of activities, including digital campaign coordination, performance reporting, website content management system (CMS) updates, search and answer engine optimization (SEO/AEO), and various other digital marketing needs. This position is also responsible for monitoring and analyzing campaign data, providing timely and actionable insights to optimize advertising efforts, improve Member engagement, and provide recommendations on improving marketing's ROI.

Our Commitment To You:

  • Compensation: $19.56 - 21.91 per hour (candidates with significant related experience may be higher)

What's Needed For This Position:

  • Enrolled at a university or technical college throughout the length of the internship, pursuing a degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, technology, Information Communication Technology or similar field.
  • Must be bondable
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks; experience with CMS platforms like WordPress and Kentico.
  • Familiarity with web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics), SEO tools, and image editing software.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills to handle multiple web projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical jargon for various audiences.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and consistency in web content and design.

What We'd Love To See:

  • Experience working, volunteering, or participating on a team or club in a similar field.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of analytics and reporting software, including Google Analytics, Google Looker Studio, Google Tag Manager, and Power BI.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of SEO principles.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment with multiple deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.


Intern Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Assist with digital marketing campaigns including Google Ads, social media, and mobile banking promotions; support email creation and scheduling.
  • Update and optimize website content using Kentico CMS; ensure brand alignment and assist with personalization efforts.
  • Improve SEO and AEO using tools like Google Search Console, Moz, SEMRush, and others; monitor keyword rankings and support link-building.
  • Analyze campaign and website performance using Google Analytics and Tag Manager; provide actionable insights and support omni-channel tactics.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on creative content and advertising ideas; provide administrative and project support.

Work Schedule:

  • Working approximately 15-20 hours/week during the school year and 35-40 hours/week during the summer. Generally working variable hours between 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday based on class schedule.
  • Must be able to work onsite at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center throughout the school year and during breaks.
  • This is a limited term, non-benefit eligible, position that will go from January 2026 - January 2027.
  • Must be able to commit to the 12 month internship.

Training:

  • Prior to starting a normal work schedule, new Royal team members must attend Foundation Training at our Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI from 9:00am - 4:30pm on Monday and Tuesday during their first week of employment. Out of town learners will be reimbursed costs related to travel and lodging.
  • Foundation Training covers fundamental information about Royal's culture and core values which sets the stage for team members to be successful within our organization.
