Software Engineer – Finance
GENERAL OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Software Engineer participates in the entire development process including collaboration with clients, designing, coding, testing and delivering a successful solution
- Growth based opportunity into senior position
- This position is based in Seattle, Washington with technical direction from our software development teams in Germany and Ireland
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develop high-quality and innovative financial software in accordance with legal, statutory, and technical regulations from the specification stage through delivery in the public transport sector
- Collaborate with the finance team along every stage of the software development life cycle
- Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing fare collection software
- Writing and maintaining technical documentation to describe program development, logic, use cases, coding, and testing methodologies
- Assist in the preparation of test plans, test scripts, and training material
- Train customers and / or colleagues
- Maintain knowledge of INIT's products and related strategies
- Support other departments in case of problems and bottlenecks (project management, sales management, other technical departments)
- Travel to Germany once per year is encouraged
- Travel to our North American clients as required, approximately 1-3 times per year
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant experience
- Very strong C#, SQL, unit/integration testing and restful API skills
- 3+ years of full stack software development experience including designing enterprise class solutions using object-oriented analysis and design, design patterns, service-oriented architecture, and solution frameworks
- Competent in critical thinking, problem solving, planning, organizing and communicating
- We offer hybrid flexibility, with up to three days in the Seattle office
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
- Experience coding in the financial services industry, an accounting system or strong knowledge of accounting principles and concepts
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
